Back on the cut at last

Back again! Sorry i havent posted any blogs recently but there hasnt been much to talk about whilst back at moorings. I have done lots of maintenance and revarnished my hardwood floor, plus am the proud owner of a new front canopy/sheet to replace my faded and leaky old one.
Anyway yesterday was the start of my second major summer cruise!? Along with my friends Mike and Lesley (Beaulah May) i am heading up to the delights of the Calden canal ( no more stoning i hope!) before making a dash for the Llangollen canal before the summer hordes descend on it. We then plan to pop over to Chester before a run down the Shroppie and Staffs & worcs. At this point we become rather vague as to our next step. Across to Stratford has been mentioned plus a cruise through brum (my home town never boated in it) but who knows?
I will attempt to write a regular blog on this trip and hope someone is reading it.

well its been an interesting week with heavy snow crippling

well its been an interesting week with heavy snow crippling the countries roads, airports and railways. Funny but apart from a thin slushy crust on the surface the canal has stayed cruisable?! I think Narrow boats always look good in the snow and am posting some photos of my boat and the boatyard. I missed the first snowfall because i couldnt find my camera! Of course it was in the first place i looked but hadnt looked properly? So i was happy when the next downfall arrived and i could get some pictures.

I am at present looking after my friends 2 dogs while they are away in mexico getting married!(alright for some) and means i am walking 3 dogs each time. Lucky they are all well behaved except the small chiwauwau which isnt too keen on the snow and reluctant to go out in this weather.

New Year -- New Start

This is my first posting on my new blog! Happy new year to all readers and Thanks for looking at my site. I am making a new start this year and going continuous cruiser so that I can see as much of the system as I want without having to think about getting back to a mooring for the winter. Last year i cruised a long circuit around the north of the system up round the Leeds Liverpool canal. I was accompanied on my trip by my good friends Mike and Lesley on N.B Beulah May. I really enjoyed the trip, but we had booked moorings here in Shardlow for October and although we took our time on the trip (about 3 months) there was always that deadline looming to be back for.
Hopefully this year I can continue exploring during the winter, stoppages allowing! We are hoping to explore more of the system this year including the stratford, Llangollen, and shroppie canals. I am hoping to then carry on north and try and get onto the Lancaster canal. Well thats all for my first post! hope it works as I am completely new to this blogging idea.
